Oliver Lang

Silbury's founder is Oliver Lang, an expert strategy advisor and senior leader working with content businesses facing critical moments of growth, challenge and change.

​

Oliver advises clients on identifying new revenue and investment opportunities when growth has stalled, repositioning business models facing a fast-changing market and delivering organisational transformations that make new models work. His clients have included leading broadcasters, production companies, facilities businesses and talent agencies as well as pan-industry organisations such as the Screen Sectors Skills Task Force.

​With over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the content industries, Oliver brings calm, assured guidance to his clients’ toughest challenges, enabling them to build confidence and clarity in their future direction.

​

Before founding Silbury, Oliver was Controller of Content Investment at BBC Worldwide. There he transformed BBCW’s content strategy to anticipate the growth of streaming with programme investments including global phenomenon Bluey. He also created and delivered a new strategy for investment in TV production companies making BBC Worldwide one of the leading investors in the UK production sector.

​

Oliver previously held senior roles across the BBC and the independent production sector.  At the BBC he led a major transformation programme of the Television division and was responsible for the £300m p.a. factual commissioning business.

 

Oliver is a non-executive director of S4C’s commercial businesses and has previously been a non-executive director of UKTV and Baby Cow Productions.  He is also a qualified Executive Coach
